Klop klop, wie is daar? Boem boem, wat hoor ik? Er bonst iets onder mijn borstkas. Mijn klok, mijn ritme. Mijn hartenklop. Het klinkt altijd door en houdt me in beweging. Ik bal mijn hand tot een vuist en stuiter hem op tafel. Ik stamp met mijn voeten, links, rechts, pa-pa-pa-en-OEMPF. En nog eens, maar dan met z’n tweeën. Nu jij, hoe klinkt jouw ritme? Ratatatata-tsssss. Lekker! En nu alles tegelijkertijd. Dit begint op een feestje te lijken…  

Klop Klop Boem Boem is een ritmisch dansconcert voor de hele familie, een ode aan de hartenklop. Drie spelers dansen, drummen en zingen wat hun hart hen ingeeft. Je hoort het niet alleen, je ziet het ritme door het hele lijf bewegen. Klop Klop Boem Boem is een reis die speels begint en steeds luider onze diepste hartenwensen laat klinken.

OVER DE MAKERS 

Wij zijn De Dansers. Een bewegelijke band van dansers en muzikanten vanuit Utrecht onder leiding van choreograaf/danser Josephine van Rheenen en componist/muzikant Guy Corneille. We staan bekend om onze ‘dansconcerten’: organische samenkomsten van energieke moderne dans en livemuziek. Voorstellingen van De Dansers vertellen toegankelijke, intuïtief meeslepende verhalen over bevrijding en overgave, waarin speels anarchisme nooit ver te zoeken is. We schudden los wat vast is of verstillen daar waar aandacht nodig is. 

De Dansers gelooft in het bijzonder in de waarde van dans op jonge leeftijd. Dan zit je lichaam vol beweging, vráágt om rennen, springen, aanraken. Dan moet in je brein de fantasie op hol kunnen slaan. We maken werk dat de levensdrift van kinderen aanspreekt en bij volwassenen vergeten verlangens naar overgave en lijfelijkheid opnieuw aanboort.

Knock knock, who’s there? Boom boom, what do I hear? Something is throbbing under my chest. My clock, my rhythm. My heartbeat. It always resonates and keeps me moving. I clench my hand into a fist and bounce it on the table. I stomp my feet, left, right, pa-pa-pa-and-OEMPF. And again, but then in pairs. Now you, what does your rhythm sound like? Ratatatata-tsssss. Delicious! And now everything at the same time. This is starting to look like a party… Knock Knock Boem Boem is a rhythmic dance concert for the whole family, an ode to the heartbeat. Three players dance, drum and sing what their hearts tell them. You don’t just hear it, you see the rhythm moving through the whole body. Knock Knock Boom Boom is a journey that starts playfully and makes our deepest heart’s desires sound louder and louder

ABOUT THE MAKERS We are The Dancers. A moving band of dancers and musicians from Utrecht led by choreographer/dancer Josephine van Rheenen and composer/musician Guy Corneille. We are known for our ‘dance concerts’: organic gatherings of energetic modern dance and live music. Performances by De Dansers tell accessible, intuitively compelling stories about liberation and surrender, in which playful anarchism is never far away. We shake loose what is solid or quiet where attention is needed.

De Dansers believes in particular in the value of dance at a young age. Then your body is full of movement, asking to run, jump, touch. Then your brain must be able to run wild. We make work that appeals to the zest for life of children and reawakens forgotten desires for surrender and physicality in adults.
